The answer is to unmasked the decietful face of philosophy and to bring the kids philosophers into the reality of the prestigious course, Philosophy.
Most writers in the field of Philosophy failed to revealed the benefits or the need of Philosophy in the life of an individual. This therefore has created an admosphere for Philosophy to be seen as a “self-thought” discipline. Hence, “each person have to think out the problems and their solutions for himself,” but would this work for the person with low IQ? How would I know that I am not on the wrong field of study? In a country like Nigeria where certificate is the order of the day, what will I do with a certificate in Philosophy?
Let me relief you for some strange and mixed feelings by introducing you to the “unknown known fact” about Philosophy.

This Article will explain to us 5 Amazing Reasons why we (you) should study Philosophy. As we keep on reading, the last one will shock us.

5 Amazing Reasons why PHILOSOPHY is important for you.
Below are the reasons why you should study Philosophy.

1. TO INVENT.

Philosophy installed in the life of an individual the inventing spirit to invent whatsoever he wishes to invent and solve his or her problems. This is one of the outstanding features which makes Philosophers of the antiquity to excel beyond their reach. Once upon a time, a question about the primary substance of the universe was asked, it was the inventing spirit of the pre-socrates Philosophers that enable them to attempted that question with ease.
Thales invented water, Anaximander invented apeiron (Boundless), Anaximenes invented Air, Pythagoras, Numbers and the list continue.
As a Philosopher or a Philosophy student, you are an inventor because you are surrounded by sound reasoning capacity to invent ideas and solve problematic issues around your environment and beyond.

2. THOUGHT MANAGEMENT.

Let’s say, “everyone can think”  but not everyone has the capability to manage what they think. If you believe this to be true, then you should be happy that you are studying Philosophy.
The reason why Philosophers always Excell in argument is simply on the fact that they are able to manage their thoughts and bring out only the best outcome. Thought management helps an individual to see things the way they ought to be not the way they appear, it helps an individual to have an insight about a certain fact.

3. TO BE SKILLED IN PERSUASIVE ARGUMENTS.

Some persons used to say that Philosophers have what they called “Silver Tongue”, Silver Tongues in the sense that they always pleasant things, pleasant words that would be pleased to the hearing of the listeners. How true is this assumptions? This is left for you to figure it out yourself.
To be skilled in Persuasive Arguments is to be skilled in logical reasoning. This logical reasoning enable you to dominate the mind of your listeners and convinced them to agree with you on a certain phenomenon.
Primarily, this is one of the secrets why Philosophy is the mother of all disciplines. A good Lawyer need to have skills of persuasive arguments, hence he must first of all appreciate Philosophy. A good Doctor needs to be skilled in persuasive arguments, hence, he must also appreciate Philosophy. Pastors, Counselors, Engineers, Politicians, etc, they all need to be skilled in persuasive arguments and the only way they can achieve this is for them to stick to, and embrace our “Virgin” course, PHILOSOPHY.

4. TO SOLVE.

The question is, can a Philosopher solve any problem? If yes, what and what can he solve?.
Philosophy is liken to a mother who gave birth to children, trained them and gave them an instruction on how to live a successful life.
No matter how many wives a son would marry, a mother remain a mother. The same applies to Philosophy, no matter how many disciplines we have in the world, “Philosophy remain Philosophy”
Philosophy can solve any problem and every problems. It creates problems and brings out remedies on how to solve the problems. Once the problems are solved, Philosophy still remain on his own giving counseling to the already solved problems.

5. TO LIVE A MORAL LIFE.

I guess you would likely ask “is Philosophy a Religion? How can Philosophy makes me live a moral life?”
In his Maxim, Socrates says “an unexamined life is not worth living” this makes Socrates to be remembered as the wisest.
The Maxim alone can help us to see Philosophy as a discipline which can be used as a yardstick in measuring Man’s actions in his environment.
More about Philosophy is more about life, Man and his relationship with man and his environment.
To promote a moral lives in the society, there is a branch of Philosophy known as Ethics, which deals on the character or way of life of an individual.
Ethics helps Philosophers to study the principles of human actions hence promoting the moral standard of a person.
So as a Philosopher or a student in Philosophy, based on the doctrine of Ethics, you are trained to live a life that would be well acceptable in the society.
