Digital Literacy for ALL Took Digital Awareness to Business Premises In Ebonyi State.


Today, Wednesday January 26th, 2025. The Digital Literacy Champions(Digital Literacy For All), a group dedicated to promoting digital literacy and bridging the digital divide, embarked on a sensitization campaign at the Ebonyi International Market on Wednesday, 26th. The campaign aimed to educate market traders and stakeholders about the importance of digital literacy and its benefits in today's digital age.

Objectives:

The objectives of the sensitization campaign were:

✍️...To raise awareness about the importance of digital literacy among market traders and stakeholders.
✍️...To educate participants on the benefits of digital literacy, such as improved business operations, access to new markets, and enhanced financial inclusion.
✍️...To provide a platform for participants to learn about digital tools and resources available to support their businesses.
Activities:

The sensitization campaign featured a range of activities, including:

1. Rally and Awareness Walk: The campaign kicked off with a rally and awareness walk through the market, where champions distributed flyers and sensitized traders about the importance of digital literacy.
2. Presentations and Demonstrations: The champions delivered presentations and demonstrations on digital tools and resources, such as online marketplaces, digital payment systems, and social media platforms.
3. Interactive Sessions: Participants engaged in interactive sessions, where they asked questions and shared their experiences on using digital tools for business.
4. Registration and Enrollment: Interested participants registered and enrolled for digital literacy training programs, which will be provided by the Digital Literacy Champions.

Outcomes:

The sensitization campaign achieved the following outcomes:

1. Increased Awareness: Market traders and stakeholders demonstrated a significant increase in awareness about the importance of digital literacy.
2. Improved Understanding: Participants showed a better understanding of the benefits of digital literacy and how it can improve their businesses.
3. Registration for Training: Over 1000 participants registered for digital literacy training programs, indicating a strong interest in acquiring digital skills.

Conclusion

The Digital Literacy Champions' sensitization campaign at the Ebonyi International Market was a resounding success. The campaign achieved its objectives, raising awareness and improving understanding of digital literacy among market traders and stakeholders. The champions look forward to providing digital literacy training programs to registered participants and continuing to promote digital literacy in the region.

Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo of YPP emerged the winner of the Ikono/Ini House of Representatives election.
